My career as a portrait artist began early. As a child I loved capturing the wonder of nature on film, and I was hooked! After earning my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the University of Northern Iowa, my education and training never stopped as the world quickly transitioned from film and darkrooms over to our current digital world. I photographed weddings for a few years and then transitioned into a full-time studio in my hometown in Iowa. High school graduation portraits were my favorite sessions as I would get to know the teenager and their hobbies and then decide how to best represent their interests in dynamic portraits. One day we were on the farm with grandpa’s tractor and the next day I’d be in the city with a ballet dancer! My passion for the great outdoors led me to California 8 years ago. I now focus on family and individual portraits, offering boutique services that start with selecting the location in your home to display the portraits. Each session is then designed to produce unique artwork that is carefully curated to bring you joy. Developing your visual story includes your favorite landscapes, whether it’s the beaches, mountains, parks or a formal home/studio session. I feel the most alive when I’m outdoors on an adventure with clients!

My personal hobbies include riding my Harley, paddle boarding and camping.
